About the challenge
bunq Hackathon 7.0 is a challenge focused on building practical, high-impact solutions that solve real problems in banking using Multi-Modal AI.
We’re looking for projects that go beyond flashy demos. Solutions should address genuine user needs and demonstrate clear value in a financial context. This means identifying a concrete problem, designing an intelligent system that leverages AI across text, images, audio, or video, and delivering a working prototype that shows how the experience can be improved in a meaningful way.
Whether you streamline complex financial workflows, enhance accessibility, improve customer support, or introduce entirely new ways of interacting with banking services, your project should be grounded in real-world applicability. Strong submissions will combine technical depth with thoughtful product thinking, showing not only what is possible with AI, but why it matters for users.
Requirements
What to Build
Your team must build a working prototype that meets the following requirements:
- Solves a real problem within a banking or financial services context, with a clear and meaningful user impact.
- Uses AI as a core component of the system. AI must be essential to how the solution functions, not just an add-on.
- Incorporates at least one non-text modality, such as image, audio, or video (or a combination of these), as part of the interaction or processing.
What to Submit
- Name of the project
- Project description explaining: the problem you are solving, your proposed solution, how AI is used and how non-text modality (image, audio, video, or combinations) is integrated.
- 2-4 minutes demo video showing a prototype and the main functionalities of the project.
- GitHub repository link, including a README.md file with setup instructions if applicable.
- Live demo link (optional)
